About

The Sunshine Coast Sailing Association was set up to serve it’s membership as an organisation to promote and encourage laser class sailing on the Sechelt Inlet of the Sunshine Coast of Canada.

We consider our group a racing club first and a social club second. We have a lot of fun doing both!

How to Join?

Membership is currently free, but each member pays for their portion of the moorage fees for the racks and owns their boat. Come out and bring your boat.

Where do I go to learn how to sail?

As we are not a sailing school to join us out on the water, you need to know the basics of sailing, the points of sail, and operational knowledge of a laser class dingy.

If you’re looking for a school on the Sunshine Coast, we’d recommend the Gibsons Sailing Club, which offers both student and adult sailing classes.

Where can I get a used laser?

If you’re looking to purchase a used laser your in luck the class has been in production for a number of years and there are usually plenty used boats to be found for sail online via craigslist or other online forums.
