We race our laser standard sailboats on the sheltered waters of Porpoise Bay on the Sechelt Inlet. This body of water provides us both calm waters and decent wind during the spring and summer months.
While on the water we use a short hand to describe which route we are going to doing:
Triangle: Boats round all the markers except for the leeward mark near Poise Island.
Large Triangle: We round all markers including the leeward mark and finish the race heading up wind.
Triangle Windward Leeward: Just like the triangle except we included a second Windward mark and finish the race heading down wind.
Windward Leeward: Short course of just the up wind marker and finish the race down wind.
